Miss A in the snow!

Miss A didn't get a lot of play in the snow this winter, but when we got a whole bunch of snow the other day I was excited that she would get to go out in the snow a few more times! We had a blast and tomorrow there is more of it. My sister has decided to go tubing for her birthday and this will be Miss A's first time tubing, so I hope she loves it.

Good News!

So I have some very good news! One of my sisters co-workers has three little boys that I babysat for a couple of weeks ago and last week I got a call from his wife who is a stay at home mom and she asked if I would be willing to come by once a week for five hours and watch the boys so she can run errands or just get stuff done around the house and a bonus was I am able to bring Miss A with me! Of course I said yes. Well today was my first day and it went great! Miss A is having a little bit of trouble sharing her mama, but I'm thinking about doing a reward system for when she does well. So we are very excited to be working with this great family!

On Sunday after church we went to watch boat races. Boat races in the frozen tundra you ask... I know I had the same question! I had no idea anything like this existed. We have a winter carnival in the cities that I've never been to and the boat races were part of it. I wish I would have brought my camera because the visual is so much better then me trying to explain it, but I'll try! So they start on a lake... frozen obviously! The boat is sort of like a canoe with three skates on the bottom two in the back and one in the front. These boats also have a sail on them and the person racing the boat pushes off and then gets in it and they steer it with a rope sort of like the reins on a horse. It was definitely interesting. Fortunately it was about 30 degrees out. The winds made it feel a little colder, but that also made the races a little more interesting. They only lasted 30 minutes which was a pretty decent amount of time to spend outside. It was a new experience and as long as the weather is decent next year I think we'll go again!
